Wagner - Kranhagen Wedding

    Miss Martha Kranhagen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kranhagen, became the bride of Mr. Charles F. Wagner, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Wagner, at 2 o,clock Thursday afternoon, Feb. 28, the ceremony being performed at the home of the groom's parents by Rev. Pilgrim.

    Mrs. Steinbring, Sr. was the maid of honor. The bride wore a gown of purple poplin trimmed in silk and marched to the altar where she was met by the groom and his best man, Mr. Steinbring, Sr.. A recption for the immediate relatives followed the ceremony at the home

    Mr. and Mrs. Wagner will be at home in the near future on a farm near Morris

M. Wagner services conducted

    Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Wagner, age 93, of Appleton, were held on Wed. Jan 18, at the Vaala Funeral Home Chapel in Appleton. She died Sun, Jan. 15, at the Appleton Municipal Nursing Home.

    The Rev. Robert A. Friedrich officiated at the services. Solo selections were "How Great Thou Art " and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."

    Casketbearers were Steven Wagner, David Wagner, and Robert Wagner. Spring internment will be at the Summit cemetery in Morris.

    Martha Lenchen Wagner was born on Nov. 2, 1895, at Clinton, Ia. to the late Ernest and Gesine (Gode) Krayenhagen. As a young girl she moved to the Morris area. She was united in marriage to Charles F. Wagner, Sr. on Feb 28, 1918, in Morris. They farmed together in the Morris area for a number of years until his death in 1949.

    After her husband's death, Mrs. Wagner lived in Morris for a few years and later moved to the Brandon area to live near her son and daughter in law. When they moved to Appleton in 1968, she moved with them, and lived there until the time of her death.

    She is survived by her daughter in law Laura Wagner of Appleton, three grandsons; Steven of River Falls,Wi.; David of Cold Springs; and Robert of Chaska; and five great granddaughters.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Charles E. Wagner, a granddaughter, and four brothers.

Charles F. Wagner

Charles F. Wagner, a resident of this community for many years, passed away suddenly, and unexpectedly Sunday of a heart attack.

He was stricken while shoveling snow and his is the second death in the county in recent weeks under similiar circumstances.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at two o,clock from the Olson Chapel. Rev. J.G. Bangert, pastor of the Peace Lutheran church, will officiate at the rites.

Pallbearers will be William Hanrahan, Robert Ross, Al Williamson, Harry Wendorf, Hugo Lubenow and James Maloney.

Charles Frederick was born at Baraboo, Wi. on Nov. 30, 1871, son of Mr. and Mrs William Wagner, both now deceased. When he was about nine years old the family came to western Minnesota and settled at Graceville. A couple of years later the family moved to Stevens county and he had lived in this community ever since. Most of his life was spent on a farm in Darden township but he retired in March, 1950, at which time he and Mrs. Wagner moved to Morris to make their home.

Mrs. Wagner was formerly Martha Krayenhagen, the couple exchanging marriage vows at Morris on February  28, 1918. She survives him. He is survived also by a son , Charles Wagner, Jr., of Alexandria; by a granddaughter, Donna Jean Wagner, of Alexandria; by four sisters, Emma (Mrs. John Lindenberger), Mrs. Ida Smith, Anna (Mrs. Peter Stahman), and Minnie (Mrs. Ernest Keifer), all of Morris; and by three brothers, Reinhold, Ed and Fred, all ofMorris
